Feral Cat Day!

Today is National Feral Cat Day...a day to raise awareness for the millions of feral cats living in America.  As a former feral myself, this is a very special day for me.  There are so many cats without home, who are living on the streets and just trying to survive.  Today is to remember them.

This is one of the first pictures taken of my when I came home.  You can see my infected ear from where it was clipped.  Even though it hurt a little, I'm hoping that more and more feral kitties out there end up with an ear tip...that means there will be fewer babies on the street.  To all my brothers and sisters on the outside...this one's for you!

  1. My sweet Lilly Ann was very feral.
I am so glad you found a home.

  2. Our Georgia has a clipped ear so we know she spent a lot of years as a feral cat. However, she decided to adopt us and become a mostly indoor cat in her older years.

We are glad you have a nice home and are no longer feral.

  6. We are so happy that you have a forever home now, Tuck. You and Andy are 2 of the lucky ones.

Had Andy survived, he may have become a feral cat.....Mom found him on the shoulder of a busy street in Mesa, Arizona. He was all alone and just a few days old. He barely had his eyes open.... and only weighed a few ounces.

With much love and special care he survived and is the wonderful boy you see on our blog today.

  16. I am so glad that you are formerly feral, Mr. Tuck. I wish that all kitties could have good homes, but for those who can't, a tipped ear is the next best thing.

  22. Hi Tuck. I checked with Jonesie and she said a tree outside your window counts...maybe you can get your mom to grow some cat grass inside? Anyway, you can join Jonesie's club even if you dream about gardens.
