Mancat (In Training) Monday: Kitty Alarm Clock

My mancat training is getting rather intense now that I'm nearing its completion. Today, I will share another lesson I have learned. It is a kitty's duty to serve as an alarm clock for a human that is in danger of oversleeping. Seven days a week, it is my job to see that Frank gets woken up at 5:30. Sometimes, he goes back to sleep and then I have to wake him up again. I use many methods...knocking things over, running across the bed, putting the bitey on toes and smacking them in the face. I must do whatever it takes. But how could they be in a bad mood. This is what they see when they open their eyes...

  1. Good work, Tuck! A word of caution though: Sleeping human pets are very dangerous. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to duck and weave from the flying arm of my pet as she attempted to hurl me from the bed.

  2. I walk all over my humans .. about 4ish to 5ish ... when the birds start to sing. I go back and forth until someone pets me. Mom is better at it than Dad. Dad just moans but Mom actually say hello and pets me.

    Great Photo

  9. Tuck, Have you efur thought of un-"tuck"-ing your dada? Maybe that would get him up when the cold air hits him.

  10. It appears that you have your beans under control. That's one of the most important duties of being a ManCat. Yes, your training is almost complete, Tuck.

  12. 5.30am? That's far too early for me. I like a bit of a lie-in.

  14. My momma Ellie is the family alarm clock. I always sleep in, knowing my momma is on it. So when the Mancat in training period is over, is there a final exam? Do you have to study?

  15. Yep I agree. I try to wake up my peepul too, except I sleep out in the front part of the house, so I bang on the hallway door until they get up.

  17. I think your dad should wake up very happy and smiling with you standing over him. Do you stick a single toenail in the side of his nose? That's what Kitty does to my Assistant Assistant Boss Christine.

  18. We don't see how the humans could get mad at that cute face! We like to wake our humans up at 5:30 too (even on the weekends!) but they don't think we're very cute when we do it.

  21. Good work! You could also try:

    Sneezing right in the face.

    Sitting on the face.

Meowing in the ear. Real close.

Gently tickling them with your whiskers.

And if nothing works you of course do the THoE. But we think you've got that one worked out.

  22. You're doing a great job, Tuck. I used to do that to my mom all the time, but now, she tends to wake me up.

  24. It sounds like you are a hard working alarm kitty. We think waking up to that every day is a sweet thing.

  25. Lily says that she read somewhere that if you let a cat wake you up once at a certain time, they will always wake you up.

Lily should know. She let my sister Buster get her up at four o'clock for a couple of days and now she's always being woken up...

(By the way, blog-trashing at Lily's this Saturday.)
