Manic Monday

Is there anything better than waking the humans out of a sound sleep? I was feeling especially hyper at 5:30 this morning and I wanted company. First, I tried making noise. I managed to get a nail polish bottle and rolled it around on the hardwood floor. Jen woke up and took the bottle away and went back to sleep. So climbed up on the bed very quietly. I wiggled down to the bottom and then leaped on her stomach with all my might. I heard her make a sound like "omph." She yelled my name and rolled over to her side. So then I crawled to the top of the bed and sat down by her head. Then, I whapped her nose as hard as I could. Twice. That got her up! I have spent the rest of the morning running around the apartment as fast as I can. I've played with all my toys and Jen said I have had my "crazy eyes" all morning. Now I'm starting to get tired. Here's a picture of when I was wrestling with one of my toys.

  2. Wow, I can't believe you're still alive. Our human pet would have been very angry had we woke her up from her precious sleep. You are one brave mancat, Tuck!

  6. Really, what was she doing still in bed so late? Mine think they should be allowed to snooze later too but I try and make sure they don't get in the habit of it!

  7. Oh oh... I'm not allowed in the bedroom when my humans sleep. One time when Grady and I were much younger, Mom let us sleep with her when the guy with gray hair and a beard who's married to her went away on a business trip. We kept her up most of the night and she said that was it. Now I spend the night in my own bed, but you know what? I can do whatever I want and no one yells at me!

  10. It sounds like your hard work paid off. Jumping on them to wake them up is a good method, we like it too.

  11. Well done your patience paid off. I have my mad hour at night, just when mum and dad have settled down. Fun isn't it.

  12. We think it's her fault for sleeping so late!

We also prefer to do that at night just after the humans have gone to bed - of course, that's also their fault for trying to sleep so early.

  14. Good job, Tuck! Human also always wake us up when we are in the middle of our naps so in return we also need to wake them up when we need company in the morning, right?

  15. that seems to be a morning ritual at our house too, with 2 of our 4, sometimes 3. our mancat is quite passive but the girls are demanding. such is life, lol.

    we love it though.

  16. Kali loves to chase Simba and knock him off the bed around 2:30 AM a couple times a week. Then when about an hour goes by, its time to settle down and sleep again. Mazi sleeps out by himself in the living room. I think it is all a big plan against the humans and the kitties get a good laugh at it.

We are not allowed to sleep in the humans bedroom but Luna can make very loud noises and Ollie also has a lot of good ideas to wake them up.
